Steven's Story

In 2009, *Steven entered Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home (CSLMCH) after enduring family abuse and neglect. Despite these early hardships, he was able to build remarkable resilience in his time with us.

He shared, “When I first arrived at CSLMCH, I had a hard time with my emotions, and it was hard to connect with others.” At the Home, Steven received extensive support, including behavioural counselling, spiritual guidance, emotional therapy, and tuition. He added, “The Spiritual team guided me through care groups and chapel services, and I found a supportive community at Trinity Methodist Church.”

After 15 years, 21-year-old Steven, has recently been discharged from our children's home and continues to thrive with support from CSLMCH’s HEARTS (Helping Everyone Achieve Resilience Through Support) Programme. After his National Service, Steven plans to pursue a degree in Physiotherapy.

There are many others like Steven at CSLMCH who need your support. The Home provides quality room and board and is deeply committed to provide holistic care. We address each child's emotional, educational and developmental needs to build their resilience.
