Volunteers

Make a difference in the lives of our children by volunteering your time at our Home today.

Volunteers

Our Home rely on volunteers to help us transform our boys and girls into healthy, happy and successful individuals. Volunteers serve as role models for children and help us to conduct important activities and programmes in our Home.

We are currently looking for caring, patient and dedicated volunteers from all walks of life to support us in the following tasks and activities:

Education

Education is especially important because many of our children are behind or struggling at school. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to guide and supervise our children with their daily school work when they return from school. The schedule is as follows:

Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Weekdays: 9:00 am to 10:30 am & 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Spiritual

At Chen Su Lan Methodist Children's Home, God is central and our children attend chapel services and care groups every week. We are looking for Christian volunteers to serve as:

Care Group Leaders (Weekday, 1 hr, anytime between 6.30pm to 8.00pm): To lead care groups (or one-to-one) by providing pastoral care, support and imparting biblical values.

Worship Musicians (Tuesday/Wednesday, 6pm to 7pm): To support our worship team, teach our children to play praise and worship songs (on keyboard and guitar).

Operations

We also require volunteer support in our Home's daily operations either on a regular basis (weekly) or when needed and available. Please contact us if you are able to assist in the following tasks:

Drivers: To drive our children to school or pick up supplies.

Gardening: To help maintain our garden and grounds.

Kitchen: To assist in preparing of food for our children.

Join Us Today!

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and are required to serve for a minimum of 1 year on a regular basis.

All volunteers are screened by the Ministry of Social & Family Development (MSF) and briefed on the Home's code of conduct and their area of deployment before commencing services. Volunteers also have to attend a mass orientation during their service to understand the culture and operations of the Home.

Long term volunteers will be invited to attend training programmes organised by the Home. These training programmes will be conducted by the Home’s Staff or by external speakers/educators. The objective is to equip the volunteer with skills and knowledge to enable them to understand, manage and relate to the children.
